DESCRIPTION

Our team was contracted to perform the sitework that transformed a former gravel pit into a 1,000,000 square-foot regional distribution center.

SCOPE OF WORK

We were responsible for clearing and grubbing, utility installation (water/storm/sewer), on-site cut-to-fills, installation of site walls, export of excess soils, import and placement of gravel base aggregates, and site grading for new distribution center and parking lot. The moisture content level in a significant amount of the native on-site soil was high. This required extensive conditioning and additional handling of the soil prior to placement. Our team successfully adjusted cut-to-fill processes to handle this unique material, while maintaining the project schedule.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • On-site cut-to-fill approximately 300,000 cubic yards
  • Excavated and exported approximately 200,000 cubic yards of excess soils
  • Installation of approximately 5,000 lineal feet of utilities
  • Fine grading for a 1,000,000 square-foot commercial building
